Cette étude présente la littérature apocalyptique et ses dérivés tels l’apocalyptisme et le millénarisme comme des phénomènes spécifiques qui possèdent des capacités importantes de mobilisation sociale. Elle rend compte aussi, très brièvement des racines de la pensée apocalyptique et de son importance pour la téléologie et la théologie de l’histoire. Enfin, elle offre une perspective anthropologique dans l’examen de l’utilisation des motifs eschatologiques se trouvant dans des textes apocalyptiques.
