Psychologie de la manipulation: Carmila de Sheridan Le Fanu comme concept archétypique du rapport prédateur– victime dans la culture de l’époque contemporaine

Carmilla (1872) est une œuvre gothique culte ; un exemple inorthodoxe de la prose victorienne de Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu (1814–1873), auteur irlandais connu des histoires de fantômes. L'auteur y utilise le motif archétypal du vampirisme féminin qui s'oppose au concept patriarcal de la logique et du sens. Un concours des circonstances étonnant dans la vie de la jeune héroïne Laura la mènera au bord même d'une mort silencieuse et imperceptible, et les événements qui suivront l'amèneront, bien des années après, à raconter son expérience, racontant une histoire bien plus vieille qu'elle-même, macabre et intemporelle.
En prenant pour le point de départ les prémisses psychoanalytiques, culturologiques et celles de genre, dans le contexte du rapport prédateur–victime, le travail explore la psychologie de la manipulation dans la culture de l'époque contemporaine. Nous plaçons Carmila dans un cadre plus large des études culturologiques à travers l'interprétation de la manipulation émotionnelle/énergétique, qui survit comme phénomène de la dynamique moderne des rapports interhumains. Dans cette histoire intemporelle, le thème latent de l'homosexualité (ici: féminine) oriente encore plus vers la complexité des nouvelles interprétations. Carmila, vampire séduisant et omniprésent, devient une allégorie fantastique de l'état moderne, où l'ambivalence finale de la fin ouvre le chemin vers un début toujours nouveau, car – la manipulation ne meurt jamais.
