Terminologija srodstva kao (i dalje) značajna antropološka analitička kategorija

U ovom radu se objašnjava šta je terminologija srodstva kao analitička kategorija u antropologiji i ukazuje na njen značaj. Posebna pažnja je usmerena na razlike u pristupu i metodu koje se primenjuju u antropologiji i u komparativnoj filologiji i istorijskoj lingvistici kada je reč o ovoj vrsti istraživanja. Osim razmatranja u vezi s tipologijom sistema terminologije srodstva, u radu se ukazuje na savremena saznanja koja se odnose na dva stara pitanja: 1. ono koje se tiče odnosa između terminologije srodstva i van lingvističkih elemenata (principi društvene organizacije i srodničkog ponašanja), 2. ono koje se bavi istorijskim promenama i transformacijama terminoloških sistema srodstva.
