Santé reproductive et vulnérabilité reproductive

La santé reproductive représente, presque à part égale, un fait socioculturel aussi bien que médical. Ce qui l’influence, dans le sens positif ou négatif, découle de la manière dont nous pensons et agissons culturellement au sujet du comportement reproductif ; ces pensées et actions sont conditionnées par la conceptualisation contextuelle de la physiologie humaine qui, de son côté, est fondée sur la conceptualisation de la sexualité et notamment sur la normativisation des rôles de genre. C’est ainsi que la santé reproductive, c’est d’abord la santé des femmes observée comme catégorie socioculturelle ; par conséquent la vulnérabilité reproductive touche principalement tous les facteurs contribuant négativement à la santé reproductive féminine. Ces facteurs sont sociaux – ils contribuent négativement à la santé reproductive du point de vue institutionnel et juridico-normatif, ensuite économiques – ils diminuent le nombre de ceux à qui dans un certain contexte socioculturel l’accès en temps utile à un service de santé satisfaisant est accordé, enfin culturels – ils soutiennent les modèles de pensée et de comportement ne prenant pas en compte le droit de chaque être humain à sa propre vie sexuelle et reproductive, mais insistent au contraire sur la conformation de la sexualité individuelle et des désirs et capacités reproductives à la norme culturelle dominante.
