У раду се даје основна подела контрацептивних средстава према томе ко их користи, на који начин функционишу и како се дистрибуирају, разматра се њихово место у политици планирања и управљања људском репродукцијом, те њихово коришћење у изградњи појединачних и групних идентитета у одговарајућим социокултурним контекстима.
